Wavelet Transform Based Fault Identification and Reconfiguration for a Reduced Switch Multilevel Inverter Fed Induction Motor Drive

The multilevel inverter-based drive system is greatly affected by several faults occurring on switching elements. A faulty switch in the inverter can potentially lead to more losses, extensive downtime and reduced reliability. In this paper, a novel fault identification reconfiguration process proposed using discrete wavelet transform auxiliary cells. Here, exploits multiresolution analysis with feature extraction methodology for subsequently reconfiguration. For increasing reliability, cells are integrated replace reduced-switch 5-level topology. scheme compensates open circuit short faults. complexity of lower relative existing methods. This technique effectively identifies classifies analysis. Furthermore, measured current voltage values during close those under healthy conditions. performance verified MATLAB/Simulink platform hardware model.
